dc.description During the last six months of 1984, the author of this paper travelled to Japan and to several Western European countries, investigating Suggestopedia and other accelerative learning methods. The original suggestopedic method as developed by Dr Georgi Lozanov has undergone many changes and adaptations to suit the cultural and political situation of individual countries. This article gives an overview of the changes and adaptations made by the different countries as well as an evaluation of the amount of success with which a given country has adapted Suggestology to suit its own particular needs and circumstances.
