dc.description Ce travail interroge le concept d’imaginaire de ses fondements épistémologiques jusqu’à l’utilisation didactique que l’on peut en faire aujourd’hui en langue de spécialité. Nous donnerons d’abord un aperçu diachronique de la manière dont l’imaginaire, phénomène psychique, processus cognitif, outil créatif, a été étudié dans ses différentes manifestations par de nombreux penseurs à travers les âges. C’est son rôle dans l’apprentissage qui nous intéressera dans un second temps ; nous verrons quelle place lui est réservée dans les Programmes Officiels. Enfin, l’espace octroyé à l’imaginaire dans les langues de spécialité rend pertinente l’analyse des contenus et les pratiques pédagogiques qui s’y réfèrent.<br>This article questions the concept of imagination from its epistemological foundations to the way it may be used didactically in Language for Specific Purposes teaching. I will first give a general diachronic survey of the way imagination, as a psychological faculty, a cognitive process, and a creative tool, has been studied in its various expressions throughout the ages by numerous specialists. Its role in learning and the place it is granted in Official Curriculums will be our second topic of interest. At last, we will look into the space allotted to the imagination in Language for Specific Purposes teaching through contents and pedagogic practices.
