The purpose of article is to generalize the most significant problems and practical experience has been accumulated by natural reserves, national and natural parks of Altai-Sayan ecoregion, in the field of preservation and a sustainable development of indigenous ethnic communities’ traditional wildlife-use cultures. Methodology and research methods: the interdisciplinary approach (i.e. the complex analysis of problems concern to regulation and preservation of wildlife-use ethnic cultures by synthesizing the sociological, ethnographic and ecological data); methods of ethno-social monitoring and ethnological expert examinations; the comparative methods, including comparative-typological, comparative-historical and comparative-genetic methods; sociological questioning (using the sample data selected by social, ethnic and territorial signs); the interviews; the expert estimates method; direct observation method. Results: major ethno-social problems in interaction of small-numerous ethnic groups and regional nature protection services have been allocated. The author shows some practically approved ways to overcome of arising contradictions and practical difficulties on a way of ethnic wildlife-use cultures preservation and sustainable development in conditions of natural protected areas. Practical implications: real practice of interaction and cooperation between the nature reserves, national and natural parks - on the one hand and indigenous population communities - with other; regional ethnic and social policy; practice of applied ethno-social research.
