Este trabajo corresponde a un estudio de medición de los Niveles de Autoestima en las escalas General, Social, Escolar y Hogar, a través del Inventario de Autoestima de Coopersmith (1984), en niñas de sexto año básico, Escuela México de Valdivia, con rasgos de inmadurez en la interacción social. Se realizaron dos mediciones, aplicando el diseño preexperimental de pretest y postest al mismo grupo-curso. Los resultados de las mediciones, efectuadas el primer semestre de los años 1999 y 2000, muestran mediante gráficos de barras, que las alumnas incrementaron sus niveles de autoestima en las cuatro áreas en estudio.<br>In this work, the level of self-esteem among sixth grade girls was measured, presenting immature behavior in their social interactions. This study was centered on the measurements on their General, Social, School and Home behavior, following the procedure described by Coopersmith (1984) in the Inventory of Self-esteem. The pre and post-tests were applied to the same group of students during the first semester of the years 1999 and 2000. The statistical analysis shows that in average the students increased their level of self-esteem in the four areas of study.
