Hermeneutic analysis of the cultural context is understood as an investigation of the interpretation of media texts, cultural and historical factors influencing the views of the media agency / author and to audience’s point of view. Hermeneutic analysis of media text comprehension involves a comparison of the cultural tradi-tion and reality, insight into the logic of the media text, media text analysis through comparison of artistic images in historical and cultural context. Thus, the object of analysis is the media system and its functioning in society, the interac-tion with the person, the language of media and its use. As an example of herme-neutic analysis of media texts in student audience the article uses banned by So-viet censorship film of Alexander Muratov and Nikolay Rasheev “The Small School Orchestra” (1968).
