The aim of this study is to determine the multiple intelligence areas of seventh grade students by means of self-assessment and how these areas are affected by gender, and their relationship with mathematics/science success. In the study, Multiple Intelligence Inventory developed by Uysal (2004) was used as the assessment tool. The sample of this study is 2414 seventh grade students in Erzurum city centre, districts of Horasan, Tortum, Hasankale, and Askale in the fall semester of 2005. 32 Randomly selected primary schools participated in this study. The data were analyzed via SPSS by utilizing t test, ANOVA, correlation analysis. Statistical results show that, the most dominant intelligence area of 7th grade students is intrapersonal intelligence in girls, and logical-mathematical intelligence area in boys. The students’ intelligence areas display some differences according to gender. Moreover, there are positive relationship between the students’ intelligence areas and their science and mathematics achievement.
