This paper focuses on the issue of ecology students’ professional self-determination in the context of educational environment of the university. The authors give empirical analysis of ecology students’ professional self-determination in the context of educational environment of the university. The researchers as well share the results of the poll they conducted on this issue among the 1stand the 2nd-year students. Purpose to give analysis of students’ professional self-determination in the context of educational environment of the university. Methodology research analysis, obtaining and interpreting empirical data, mathematical statistics. The key method is the student community study embracing 40 respondents from Shuya Branch of Ivanovo State University (first and second-year full-time ecology students, aged 17-20 y.o.) Results the assessment of features of professional self-determination of students ecologists in the conditions of the educational environment of HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION is given. The analysis of influence of subjective factors on a professional choice is shown. Practical implications the principal theses and conclusions made in the framework of the conducted research can be taken into consideration when designing regional programmes aimed at forming a positive image of the profession of ecology engineer in Ivanovo Region.
