This work characterizes as a study of case and researches to verify if the carrying out the effective environmental educational practice is or is not directly relationed to academical formation and ever never improvement formation of the teacher. For this, the public high schools linked to Head Teachers in Guaratinguetá region – SP were identiied, in 2006, that developed environmental educational practice. This research has exploratory and described characteristics, its data were studied quantity and quality methods and by the results found, it was possible verify, among others, an initial approach involving the subjects in great part od educational practice developed, essential characteristic in environmental educational; a short knowledge from the teachers involved with the projects and the lack of involvement of community in environmental educational practices. Concluding, the development of environmental educational practices are directly linked to the academical formation of the teachers and the all professionals involved to Education.
