This paper intends to discuss the reciprocal relationship that exists between the act of lecturing and the teaching environment in which this one is delivered. There are presented different perspectives on lecturing in relation to various elements: temporal and physical conditions, the audience, the students’ motivation or abilities. Besides the theoretical references there are also provided some practical details and experiences. Throughout the paper there have been put in balance different perspectives on lecturing in order to provide knowledge about the structure of this teaching sequence.
