The purpose of this study was to determine primary school 2nd grade students’ perceptions towards standard unit of length measurement. Sample of the study consists of 6 2nd grade students in a primary school in Eskişehir. These students were selected according to their success levels as there were one girl and one boy in every level. In order to obtain data, semi-structured interview forms were used and each subject was interviewed individually. The content analyze method was used for analyzing data. According to the results of the study, students perceive the standard unit of length measurement “meter” as both a measuring unit and a measuring instrument.
