Description:
In this work are reported two experiences of the application of Tutorials in Introductory Physics, developed in the University of Washington at Seattle by Prof. Lillian McDermott and the Physics Education Group. This methodology, the first translated to Spanish [1] it is based on the results of more than 20 years of Physics Education Research (PER) on the main learning difficulties of different subjects of basic physics and the corresponding curriculum development. The evaluation has been realized by comparison of the performance of groups subjected to different teaching approaches. The measuring instruments have been in all cases single response, multiple choice test also developed upon the results of PER. Excellent results are obtained in both applications, even when performance is compared with student populations of more demanding and advanced educational systems. It is noted that higher learning’s are obtained in the whole class, independently of student performance and sex.
