A didactics focused on learning how to learn demands the use of methods, procedures and strategies that favors the assumption of reflective and independent reasoning on the part of the students in searching, updating and putting knowledge into practice by carrying out studying tasks related to their general training. In doing so, the analysis of memory enhancing techniques plays an important role. Memory is a key cognitive process. This article presents a theoretical and methodological approach providing suggestions to guide teachers and students control and self-control of memory related processes from the perspective of efficient study, a questions that is usually underestimated.
