The purpose of this study is to determine student‟s learning styles, reading and understanding strategies of tenth grade pupils who have been attending to high school. “The Kolbs‟s learning style inventory” and “reading and understanding strategies scale” were applied to tenth grade 371 high school students in Kırşehir. It was tried to identify the level of reading-understanding strategies of students regarding their learning styles. Percentage (%), khi-square (X²) statistics techniques were used in this study. The level of cognitive awareness of students according to the use of learning strategies was determined. Some suggestions had been given for effective reading and understanding considering the results of the study.
