Description:
The article investigates the use of the Spanish borrowings in the novel «For Whom the Bell Tolls» by Ernest Hemingway. These are colloquial speech, geo-graphical names, military terms and so on. The analysis of their inclusion in the text of the novel is made, their role in the creation of the certain lexicosemantic coloring of the text is studied. The correlation between Spanish and English expressions is studied in the different contexts in the novel.
