Description:
Aims, design and effects in students of a classical mechanics course, characterized by complete lecture elimination, are presented. The aims of course, related in different ways to promotion of personal learning management (learning to learn, alone or in a group), were derived from actual trends in physics teaching, engineering education and knowledge-based economy. A survey, filled by students anonymously in the last week of the course, shown that big majority of the aims and design elements had a favorable resonance in students (reflection about own way of learning, importance of group work, usage of the sequence Predict – Observe – Explain, vision of problem solving, cognitive adequacy of didactic videos and activities with measurement).
